Jakayla M. Ladson is a dynamic, service-driven young leader set to graduate in 2027. A proud scholar and community advocate, she is deeply involved in organizations that reflect her dedication to excellence and empowerment, including Savannah Youth Ambassadors, Twirling 2 Fight Cancer, the National Honor Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars.
As Dance Team Captain and a competitive baton twirler, Jakayla leads with confidence and creativity. Her talent has earned her titles as the 2023 Beginner Southeast Pageant Winner (Baton) and 2025 Intermediate Southeast Pageant Winner (Baton). She also serves as a Black Baton Twirling Network Ambassador, Dr. Twirlz Ambassador, Coastal Heritage Society Teen Board Member, CURE Club participant, and Life Bridge Church Child Care volunteer—a reflection of her heart for service and community.
Jakayla’s pursuit of the Miss Savannah Juneteenth title is rooted in her desire to celebrate the legacy of freedom, resilience, and Black excellence that Juneteenth represents. She believes in the power of education and scholarship to open doors for young Black women and is passionate about using her platform to uplift others, promote unity, and inspire confidence in the next generation.
Through the Miss Savannah Juneteenth Scholarship, Jakayla hopes to continue her education and expand her leadership journey—proving that when Black girls stand in their truth, honor their history, and lead with purpose, they carry the spirit of Juneteenth forward with brilliance and pride.
